How UP they are for the game has to be part of the factor for today too.The problems I'm seeing are gonna toast this defense against a competent passing game.
We may as well not even play the games then. The problems I'm seeing are gonna toast this defense against a competent passing game.
Played a competent passing team last week, and they didn't "toast" us so....The problems I'm seeing are gonna toast this defense against a competent passing game.
I suspect that's because our LB rotation is somewhat limited. We have yet to man blitz or any stunts or rush hard upfield. Been very bland on DL.
How do you explain last week then? FSU just not that good?I don't care how up they are for this game. I've seen this type of game before and there is a difference between how the great Ds looked when they were airmailing it and the less than great Ds looked while doing the same.
This is closer to the latter. The athleticism for a variety of reasons up front is just not there. Injuries are a factor but the guys we get back later in the season aren't likely to help that a ton.
Had great pressure against Francois last week, virtually all game long. That said, the D-Line is not playing inspired football. They are getting no push against Fresno State. They really need some leadership in that group.
This is the first game where an opponent knows what we're missing. Not apples to apples.Played a competent passing team last week, and they didn't "toast" us so....

Whatever you need to tell yourself. This is the first game where an opponent knows what we're missing. Not apples to apples.
FSU's OL is terrible at pass pro and we could blitz a ton because they go vertical in the passing game. How do you explain last week then? FSU just not that good?
