Re: FBI Probe of College Basketball (Breaking - Wade Suspended)
They looking for that Bruce Pearl effect. Cheat as long as you win.

Well, lawyers got involved and anytime lawyers get involved the NCAA tucks it's tail and runs.Maybe, but the NCAA is looking more toothless by the day.
The Bruce Pearl effect. Clam up, don't talk to anyone and ride out the storm. If you win a few games, all is forgiven. Schools are taking their lead from Auburn when it comes to the NCAA which means lawyer up, and dare them to take meaningful action. The hypocrisy of the NCAA is growing every year when they allow schools to do blatantly cheat and basically don't do anything about it. Ole Miss was the last school to get really hammered, but the NCAA has people willing to talk. You'll never get anyone to talk at LSU or Auburn. How do you think Chuck Person's family is surviving right now? Think about it.Well, lawyers got involved and anytime lawyers get involved the NCAA tucks it's tail and runs.
LSU is a disgrace. They basically just looked at the FBI and said "prove it!" If they really think the FBI has shown all their cards then they are idiots. When the FBI takes this to trial and brings down Wade, the LSU program will now come down with him.

https://twitter.com/abc/status/1117901335867924481I agree with everything you said when it comes to just dealing with the NCAA. Problem for LSU is that this isn’t just the NCAA, they have to deal with the FBI and the FBI isn’t going to back down. If the FBI has more on Wade and ever releases it, LSU will look much worse than just a school playing games with the NCAA.The Bruce Pearl effect. Clam up, don't talk to anyone and ride out the storm. I did not even think about the timing of the reinstatement. It does seem they did it when there was bigger headlines for the day.
Alleva was ordered by LSU President F. King Alexander to suspend Wade on March 8, according to emails obtained via public records request by NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune.
“Based on Will Wade’s refusal to meet with us regarding the accusations published yesterday in the media, I hereby direct you to place Coach Wade on interim suspension immediately and indefinitely, pending further investigation," Alexander’s email to Alleva read.
Situation gets weirder by the dayBeing reported now that LSU AD Alleva is supposed to step down - perhaps as early as today.
Why do always ruin things by throwing out pesky things like “facts”? :biggrin:Funny tidbit from Alleva's announcement is who made the decision to suspend Wade. LSU fans took out their anger at Alleva, but it appears he was told to do so...
It's LSU and it's the norm in BR.Situation gets weirder by the day

https://twitter.com/abc/status/1119270758885265409So no testimony from Wade or Miller means what for the NCAA? If they both keep their mouths shut for the most part and simply deny the allegations, what legs does the NCAA have to stand on?
I read that the transcripts of their recorded conversations will be submitted as evidence, so the NCAA will have plenty of evidence. The only question is whether or not they will do anything with it.So no testimony from Wade or Miller means what for the NCAA? Wow......just wow! If they don’t act it will be a free for all!I read that the transcripts of their recorded conversations will be submitted as evidence, so the NCAA will have plenty of evidence. The only question is whether or not they will do anything with it.
