I hope we have lawyered up big time. Something tells me there will be all kinds of loopholes, denials, and excuses to let most of the big-time schools off the hook. Louisville may be the one that gets in the most trouble. The NCAA could care less about AU but they will come down on us hard for any reason they can find.
aaaaand the NCAA takes the handoff...
https://twitter.com/abc/status/1080516253209559042Usually, you plead guilty in hopes of getting lesser penalties. Only way to get that, though, is to cooperate. Wonder why they wouldn't cooperate?Three assistant coaches tied to this case have already pled guilty – Lamont Evans (South Carolina and Oklahoma State), Tony Bland (USC) and Emanuel “Book” Richardson (Arizona). They are all believed to have agreed to non-cooperation deals, which means they are not under obligation to testify for the government.
My guess - their financial future is tied to their silence. This is white collar crime. There is no real concern about a life altering prison sentence. The only way that they can help themselves now is by remaining loyal to those who will help them financially in the future.Usually, you plead guilty in hopes of getting lesser penalties. Maybe that will be enough of a distraction for them to help us knock them off Saturday....Oh, things might have just gotten real fun...
