Will someone lost their redshirt because of this? Maybe LaBryan Ray or one of the other freshman we were planning to redshirt or can we fill his vacancy over the next month with the current rotation?

According to the participation chart from the game, Ray lost his redshirt.

Well, we only signed 3 defensive linemen. Buggs started game one, Mathis had already played prior to Saturday and now Ray has played. So all shirts are gone on the 2017 defensive line men class.

When did Mathis play? Don't recall seeing him in a game thus far.

Saban and Bama players discuss the chop block.
It's legal, but players hate it.
Coach Saban said:
“Yeah, it was legal. He just cut him. If it’s illegal, we should eliminate cut blocking. I’ve been an advocate of that for a long time, but you’re allowed to cut. It was a legal block. Until someone changes the rule, there’s nothing illegal about it.”
Anfernee Jennings said:
“We hate it. Every defender hates a cut block. But it’s part of the game.”

Update on both Hand and Diggs...

Alabama likely won't have to be without Da'Shawn Hand for very long.

The senior defensive lineman, who suffered a knee injury during the Crimson Tide's win over Ole Miss on Saturday, is expected to only miss about three games and could be back as soon as Alabama's game against LSU Nov. 4, AL.com has learned.

Further evaluation on Sunday confirmed that Hand, who at first looked like he suffered a potentially serious injury, sustained only a sprained MCL.

In addition, Tide cornerback and punt returner Trevon Diggs should also be back soon.

Diggs, who suffered a foot injury during the win over Ole Miss, will likely miss a week or two, AL.com has learned.

Freshman wide receiver Henry Ruggs will probably be Alabama's punt returner with Diggs out.
