We lost to Trinidad and Tobago 2 to 1 needing only a tie to advance. This is the first time that we have not made the world cup since 1986.

Comparison wise, T&T has about 1 million people so we have x323 times the population.

I think we need major changes in our federation.

Well that stinks. Not surprising given the internal problems the program has gone through in the last year and a half.

I wasn't sure anyone on this forum would care. This is an absolutely appalling loss. It's like losing to Alabama A&M when a playoff spot is guaranteed. I can't wrap my head around it. Team USA is looking like the Longhorns of world football.

Saw it on twiter but since 2011, U.S.A has missed out on a U17 World Cup, and U20 World Cup, two Olympics and a Senior World Cup.

And yet US Soccer Federations president said this:

Gulati: “You don’t make wholesale changes on a ball being two inches wide or two inches in...We’ll look at everything.
Unbelievable. Wholesale changes is indeed needed for Team USA.

I would have given the entire team the Lane Kiffen treatment. Find your own way home.

Couldn't watch, but somebody said Bradley was walking to take the corner when we were down by a goal. That to me is inexcusable.

At least I won't have the World Cup shoved down my throat next year. I can ignore it as usual without being un-American.

I keep waiting for Trump to tweet something like this:

"USA lost because we had to play two countries in the same game. Unfair!"

I only watch soccer every 2 years, during the Olympics and World Cup, to pull for my country. Guess I don't have to watch next year. I predict a huge ratings decline for the World Cup in the US next year but, the networks will still try and shove it down our throats.

This was incredibly embarrassing. Looked ridiculously bored and lackadaisical in the first half almost like we expected Mexico and Costa Rica to do the job for us. Pathetic. And to think we have arguably the most promising 19 year old in the history of US soccer.

Fox, Nike among biggest losers after U.S. fails to reach World Cup

Fox Sports: The news of the U.S. team being eliminated comes just 13 days after Fox announced that the 2018 World Cup would be the biggest production in the brand's 24-year history with 350 live hours of programming.
Fox paid about $200 million for this year's Cup and giving the advertisers the numbers they want might be difficult with the English language broadcaster's home team not playing.
Yikes

Of all the sports to complain about in America soccer is about the only one I don't feel like is being shoved down my throat.

Yeah people get goofy about the world cup but if I didn't like football it would be far more intrusive into my daily life than anything soccer related. Baseball is far more down my throat when they keep throwing updates for it in the middle of football games. They need to end that snoozefest before football season starts.
