I rent office space to a former Navy guy, he's now a lawyer. He comes from an old family that has valuable land and plenty of it. He also likes to drive old jalopies. The longer he can keep his current wreck going, the better. One day, he pulled up, it was early morning and cold and rainy. His car had no window on the driver's side. "You tightwad, why don't you break down and buy a car that al least has a driver's window." I asked.
He answered..."I was in the Navy in my younger years...riding to work with the wind and cold rain in my face takes me back to being at sea."
I hope that's not too disrespectful of a thread hijacking, but my point is you just gotta love these old Navy guys.
