We were in construction, supplied labor for most of the carpentry involved in building. Regulations, insurance rates, and illegal labor drove us to early retirement. Competing with those who bid based on low cost illegal labor with no taxes paid was not possible if one hoped to profit and take care of legal employees properly. Long time contractors who replaced people like us with cheaper illegal labor stopped building because they were replaced with shoddy national builders who used illegals for all facets of the jobs. Now the cost will skyrocket as building tries to keep up with demand.
Dance with the devil and expect karma in the outcome.

My cousin did great for many years. Then the influx of cheap illegal alien labor made it difficult for him to outbid those that used 90 percent undocumented labor.

Was just at a builders show in Dallas and the biggest fear was "no labor" by far....

If we could set up true Tech-based high schools teaching labor-demand jobs like carpentry, electrical, plumbing, AC/refrigeration, etc we would boom.

Now these types of schools, if they are in your area have really just become "ship off your badly behaving kid" schools that teach nothing.
