Several cities have already bankrupted. There are many others that seem to be headed in that direction. For a problem with such impact, it seems to get little play in national news. Not sexy enough, I suppose.

Alot of Texas cities in your second link that are res dots. I thought they were supposed to be one of the most fiscally responsible states.

Several articles over the past few years have suggested that the state government of Texas was one of the best stewards of it's citizens money compared to other states in the union. Of course, that was state government, not municipality government.

The state, yes. The democratically run cities, not so much.
