I think LSU's best chance of winning is for Dave Arranda to be able to do what he did last year. I just don't think he will be able to. We might have a dog fight for a while, but depth and experience will eventually take over.

I think LSU will give us all we can handle, just as they do almost every year. I would absolutely love it if we gave them a beat down, but they always play us like Auburn does, which means they seem to place their whole season on beating us. Of course, many teams seem to do that, but AU and LSU have often come up with ways to either beat us or at least make us sweat. I expect nothing less in two weeks. I think MSU will then be poised to play us hard after our always physical game with LSU. We then get a breather before heading down to the plains. I do not think it will be an easy finish to the end of the regular season. It never is.
I think that they will force you to beat them in the air. They will load the box and take away the run.

Having the game in T-town this year and a starting QB with over 20 games under his belt will make a huge difference.

LSU hasn't improved enough offensively to put up multiple scores without Bama helping them out. If our guys take care of the football, this will be a solid victory- somewhere in the 31-14 range. Worse if they can't get anything going in the run game, and our's gels like it has all season.

Through week eight, against SEC foes:

Scoring offense:
LSU: 22.8 ppg (11th in conf)
Bama: 47.6 ppg (1st in conf)

Scoring defense:
LSU: 25.0 ppg (7th in conf)
Bama: 7.6 ppg (1st in conf)

Bama is going to demolish LSU this year.

LSU has not fared well in Tuscaloosa of late. Sure the games in Baton Rouge have always been dogfights, but we’ve flattened them in the second half each of the past two games at home.

Bingo, comparing this year's team to the 2015 (Bama beat 30-16) and the 2013 team (Bama beat 38-17):
LSU scoring offense 2013: 35.8 ppg (6th in conf)
LSU scoring offense 2015: 32.8 ppg (6th in conf)
LSU scoring offense 2017: 25.0 ppg (7th in conf)

LSU scoring defense 2013: 22.0 ppg (4th in conf)
LSU scoring defense 2015: 24.3 ppg (10th in conf)
LSU scoring defense 2017: 25.0 ppg (7th in cons)

They're worse, and Bama is better:
Bama scoring offense 2013: 38.2 ppg (4th in conf)
Bama scoring offense 2015: 35.1 ppg (4th in conf)
Bama scoring offense 2017: 43.0 ppg (1st in conf)

Bama scoring defense 2013: 13.9 ppg (1st in conf)
Bama scoring defense 2015: 15.1 ppg (1st in conf)
Bama scoring defense 2017: 9.8 ppg (1st in cons)

Exactly! People have pointed out the mistakes in our passing game (and I acknowledge there were several) but our passing game did Really good things this past game. I think if you commit too many players to stopping the run the Jalen will have a career high type of day until you switch to try to cover the pass. When they do that then we will run.

I know that LSU is going to be up for this game, but so is every opponent that you play. Once again, it won't matter. Alabama is going to win handily unless you have a ton of turnovers in the game.

The stats and location of the game tell me that we ought to win by two scores. LSU will be up for this game BIG TIME both players and staff. This game is critical for Coach O. I expect them to have everything ready to throw at us. They're gonna need a big game from an inexperienced and thin (depth-wise) OL to have a chance...should be the difference for us even if they stymie our offense.

Only 2 scores? I really think our D will be as good against LSU as they have been against everyone and our O will come to play.

We should blow them out, but something tells me otherwise. In Coach Oeaux's two games against CNS he has coached above his head and made it a crazy game. I think if we are able to pass then its a name your score type game, but if Arranda draws up another trap for Jalen then I tend to see another 10-0 type game. Personally I would take a 1 point win and call it a day.

I apologize for the modesty in predicting the outcome against our best opponent since the opener! :p
If I am right you will be happy next Saturday. If you are right, you will be happy next Saturday. Win-win
