Cosby going to prison......so surreal......still hasn't set in yet.

We grew up with him in our house starting in the 60's. My Dad bought all his records and we'd play them on the Capehart in our living room.

I mean this is when we had black and white TV with only 3 channels.

Those old Cosby Show reruns are still on - I have them on right now.

Indeed, he did some very despicable things.

Hard to reconcile stuff like this sometimes.... :(

I think it goes to show how the viewer forgets that these people we see on tv shows and movies are "acting" and many times are playing a character that isn't anything like them. Though they do a great job at playing the role, it's not who they really are themselves. Yet we project the characteristics of the person they are playing on tv onto them as individuals, only to be disappointed as we find out who they really are through stuff like this. I agree, very hard to reconcile.

What's worse is when one of your childhood "heros" (i.e. pro athlete) that you idolize from your tv screen turns out to be a dbag when you meet them in person. My favorite baseball player as a child was Will Clark of the SF Giants. Collected all of his baseball cards, had posters, tshirts etc. Only to meet him in person at the age of 13 and find out he was a complete dbag. As a kid it's a sad reality.

Well, when he went pro he wanted to be known as “Will the Thrill”. From what I heard, his fellow pros were not “thrilled”. His arrogance was reported (anecdotally) while he was at MSU.

Creepy Porn Lawyer arrested on felony domestic violence charges

Anti-Trump attorney Michael Avenatti was reportedly arrested on charges of felony domestic violence that seriously injured his estranged wife.

According to a report in TMZ, the lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels and one of Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s less-credible accusers was taken into custody Wednesday after a confrontation “at an exclusive apartment building in the Century City area of L.A.”
“A law enforcement source says on Tuesday, Avenatti ‘kicked her out of the apartment’ and that’s when the alleged domestic violence occurred,” the celebrity-news site reported.
Lisa-Storie Avenatti then went back on Wednesday to retrieve her belongings but had the police on stand-by in case anything went badly, TMZ reported.
“We’re told during today’s confrontation the woman ran out of the apartment building and was on the sidewalk on her cellphone with sunglasses covering her eyes, screaming on the phone, ‘I can’t believe you did this to me,’” TMZ wrote.

On the thread topic - Trump basically set all of this up with his comment years ago, stating what rich men could do to women.
Not that this wasn’t the norm for many rich men before that comment became public - it actually was. It just didn’t get the press, or the pushback from the female “victims”.
It was said almost 150 years ago, and it’s still true: power (in our world, money) corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
