IIRC, didn't he have 36 yds on one carry for a TD? (That really wasn't a TD) That means outside of that one carry he had 20 more carries for 8 yards??? Heisman???
Saquon Barkley21442.1136

That's 44 yards with 21 carries. You guys say Heisman candidate? Sure he carried one back on the initial kick-off. But Hesiman??? Come on. This guy's Heisman campaign I think is done.

His QB got 5 more yards rushing than he did.

On another note, not saying JT should get the Heisman but his 33/39 with 328 yards passing and 4 TDs is the best QB performance of the season so far.

He was stuffed behind the LOS many times in that game. As a RB, he was a total non-factor in the game.

He has had several games of this nature this year. Penn State has been using him as a returner and a receiver, and that's how he has been piling up total yards. Not running the ball. They're trying the Christian McAffrey method in order to get him the Heisman.

Frankly, this probably says a lot about PSU's O-line. Barkley is a fantastic runner, IMO. OSU's D-line is top notch, however, and won that battle.

Barkley was good for 2 TD’s against the Buckeyes. That says a lot. Bama held Leonard Fournette to almost nothing rushing. That speaks more to the offensive line than to the RB.

Nobody is going to make a case for Barkley now because PSU is most likely out of the playoffs. But even Heisman winners/contenders have a bad game.

He's been averaging over 200+ Total YPG on the season between rushing, receiving, and KR and has 15 TD's combined rushing, receiving, returning, and even passing. He's their 'does everything' guy.

No he won't win the Heisman and he might not even get an invite now but it's not like the guy is a bum. Even in this game he had over 170 yards and 2 Td's. He didn't win the game but he didn't lose it either.

J.T. Barrett OTOH probably just became the front runner. He has quietly been piling up the stats since the OU loss. He's had a QBR over 200+ 3 different weeks!! He's thrown 3 TD+ in 5 Straight games. This is his current stat line:

170 for 245 (69.4%) for 2,155 yards passing 25 TD's 1 INT
88 Carries for 465 yards and 5 TD's

2,620 Total yards 30 TD's and 1 INT.....through 8 games. He's on pace to have over 4,250 yards and near 50 TD's when the Heisman Banquet takes place!!

That's just amazing considering his past inconsistencies and especially how poorly he played to end last season. I admit I wrote him off after that combined with the OU loss......but he's bounced back with some jaw dropping stat lines.

And just think of the voting demographics going all in for the first Heisman Trophy winner with immediate AARP eligibility!
