I think that was the game where Josh Reed caught 17 or 18 passes against us..
You have your years mixed up. The score was 27-3 in 2003, but Josh Reed played for the Buffalo Bills from 2002-2009.I was there that day as well. 27-3, and that was merciful.
LSU could have scored 70 if they'd wanted to. Everybody in the stadium knew they'd throw to Josh Reed, and we couldn't stop it. Double team didn't matter. Triple team didn't matter. If we'd tried it, quadruple team wouldn't have mattered because it would only have made our own guys trip each other up.
I've never felt so hopelessly outclassed.
That was the 2001 game when LSU beat Bama 35-21.I think that was the game where Josh Reed caught 17 or 18 passes against us..
Shoulda checked with Selma instead of relying on my failing memory. You have your years mixed up. The score was 27-3 in 2003, but Josh Reed played for the Buffalo Bills from 2002-2009.
I'd bet anyone a trillion bucks(if I had it) that no other football team, college or pro, has gone 14 years without losing at least one game by 17 points. That's amazing!
Thanks! No, that was 2001. 2003 was when Saban came to Tuscaloosa with the obvious intention of beating Bama by the identical 31-0 score he had suffered by them in 2002. With the score 24-0, he got royally po'd when LSU bogged down and had to kick a FG making the score 27-0 instead of 31-0. Thought he was going to die of a stroke right there on the sideline when Bama kicked the late FG to deny him his shutout.
Especially those teams that have played Alabama recently.I'd bet anyone a trillion bucks(if I had it) that no other football team, college or pro, has gone 14 years without losing at least one game by 17 points.
I'll bet you were in Starkville in 1982 when State beat us 6-3 too, huhShoulda checked with Selma instead of relying on my failing memory.
