I'm glad it is televised. This looks like one tough team. They have a very good inside scorer so it will be interesting to see how Hall and Giddens perform with hopefully not too many fouls.

They must be decent, they received votes in both the AP and Coaches poll.

They've defeated Loyola Marymount and won at BYU (our next opponent). Should prove to be a challenging game, going to have to play some defense and hit our free throws.

They were an NIT team last year and made it to the third round, after winning the Sub Belt conference but falling in the conference tournament and thus losing a bid to the NCAA (last year, they lost to Arkansas by 4 last year; they beat Texas and St. Mary's). Their star player is Kevin Hervey who was the Sun Belt Conference player of the year last year and an honorable mention All-American. He averaged about 17 points and 9 boards a game.

Re: Arkansas-Little Rock Comes to Tuscaloosa

UT Arlington is a good team with a lot of experience. Their top 5 scorers are all seniors, which means they probably do not have the raw talent of some of our players, but they have been well coached and get the most they can out of their talent.

Teams like this are always dangerous (particularly early in the season) and this game should definitely give us a good idea where our team really stands. Given his own background in Texas, Avery will certainly be familiar with them. We just need to hope that he can convince our players not to overlook this game just before Thanksgiving.

UT Arlington is playing at full speed, while Alabama is playing like they are already at home in a pick up game. The timeout was important. Now, the team needs to respond.
