The College Football Belt site tracks a mythical belt that transfers to the winner when the holder loses a game. I don't think the site is up-do-date but maybe I'm missing something.
Bama had the belt going into the Clemson game and lost it to Clemson. Clemson held it until they lost to Syracuse. Syracuse lost it to Miami who later lost it to Pittsburgh. Pitt is not bowl eligible at the moment so it looks like they will keep through the offseason.
The original belt was awarded to Nebraska after they beat Alabama in the 1972 Orange Bowl.
