Vols are expected to name Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt as their new coach tomorrow, barring an unexpected setback"

Don't won't to lose him but it is a head coaching job. Maybe not what he should get but I just hope that Saban is giving him advise.

Dang it. That would be three straight playoffs with that distraction.

Sounds like he’s gone. Hopefully he’ll stick around for the playoffs. I assume Tosh will be our new DC.

Every opportunity is not a good opportunity. I want Pruitt to get a good HC job but this one just got too much stink on it. You can't have that many experienced HCs to turn this down if there isn't something amiss ... just saying. Let it go Pruitt ... let it go

Re: Tennessee is officially offered Pruitt

I'm hoping that this part causes him to decline:

"Details on the proposed deal have not been released, but a snag could come in whether or not the Volunteers allow Pruitt to coach in the College Football Playoff as the Crimson Tide take on Clemson in the semi-final on Jan. 1 in New Orleans. Tennessee would most likely like to have Pruitt join immediately as the early signing period is two weeks away."

I hope he also understands that if he's being hired as Fulmer's puppet, and the team doesn't do so well, he'll also be the fall guy for that in a few years. If that happens, it'll hurt his marketability as a head coach in the future. He will be referenced as "Failed Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt." NOT wishing that on him, just so I'm clear, but the potential is there.

Dang it. Hope he stays, but if he's gone, then we'll just have to accept the next man up.

I hope he stinks up there and can’t find a job when Fulmer screws him over. Why anyone would even go near that place with Fat Phil in charge is beyond me.

Hate he's leaving. Hope it doesn't cause us problems in the playoffs.

It is amazing all these teams can't stand Bama until they need a coach. I think Pruitt will be making a huge mistake but it is what it is I guess.

Seriously? I can't believe you would wish ill on one of our coaches. I don't like it one bit either, and no, I don't want him or any other coach to win there, but wishing he can't find a job afterward? Let's just go after his family while we're at it.

My thought is I wonder if Phat Phil picked Pruitt to try and hurt us in the playoffs? I wouldn’t put anything past the great pumpkin!

I agree ... I'm really not understanding this one ... again, I hope he gets a good HC opportunity in the future and I believe he will but I don't understand how anyone take this position right now. With the state of everything going on just in the East alone, theres no way he can have that program at an acceptable winning level within 5 years. And I'm not even bringing in all of the other stuff into it. Thats just a bad scenario to go to.
