Re: 2018 midterm elections catch-all thread

Cortez held a whirl-wind tour of the U.S., stumping for Abdul El-Sayed for governor of Michigan, Fayrouz Saad in Michigan’s 11th Congressional District, Cori Bush in Missouri’s 1st District, and is backing Congressional candidate Kaniela Ing in Hawaii.

El-Sayed lost his bid for the Democrat nomination for governor to 51.8 percent to 30.5 percent, according to numbers published by the New York Times.

Saad came in fourth in the five-way race, capturing only 18 percent of the vote.

Cori Bush lost her primary to William Lacy Clay, 56.7 percent to 36.9 percent, the Times results show.

Hawaii’s primary election will be August 11. Stay tuned to see if Ing fairs any better.

BEFORE ELECTION:
See the Blue Wave coming, people hate Trump

AFTER ELECTION IF THEY DON'T CAPTURE HOUSE:
Boo hoo, gerrymandering....

(FTR, I actually think they take it).

Yeah, "Boo hoo" doesn't quite sum up the consequences of rampant gerrymandering, Russian hacking to change votes, Russian hacking to change voter registration, fake news and propaganda, voter suppression, etc.

I hope for a blue wave for the sake of the country but I'm not going to immediately dismiss it as whining if the election is screwy. Folks can call it boo hoo if they want but these attacks on democracy ARE happening by a shrinking minority and their allies (or puppet masters) willing to do anything to maintain their power.

If a Blue Wave does happen it will be in spite of those things. Not because they don't exist.

I’m not Nate Silver, but based on what I’ve seen so far I’d give the dems an 80% chance of taking control of the house at this point. Hello Speaker Hillary?
