Not real surprising since Golding's history is the secondary.

I was thinking it was Ansley that was leaving for a while because of Golding's history. Congratulations to him! he definitely deserve it! I wouldn't be shocked if he came back in few year to be DC for Alabama.

Always like hearing these guys making an upward move. Best of luck to him. I am sure Coach Saban new about this is the reason for the hire of Golding.

Good luck to him. He is one of our best recruiters but I have heard Golding is really good also. Amazing the turnover we have every year and we continue to plug and play with the next group of great coaches.

hopefully this doesnt affect our recruits that haven't signed yet. I know by reading a bunch that Ansley has been a big recruiter for us. roll tide

Golding has secondary experience, so essentially we already have Ansley's replacement. The DC "title" could go several directions, so that person could come from outside the program, still. regardless, we still have two spots to hire.

My mention of Conn was not so much related to his skill as a db's coach as it was his former job. :)

I’m thinking OL and OC. I just can’t believe Belichick would say that if McDaniel’s leaves, Daboll would be his choice unless he had already talked to Nick and Nick indicated he wasn’t happy with how things were playing out with Daboll. Or had some indication things were not working.

When it comes to OL, I feel we have WAY more talent than production.

In the end, having potentially 5 new coaches (including the 10th coach) IMO will add some new blood and energy in the room! After all the clutter, that will be welcome.

Hold up! Ian Rapoport is reporting that Derrick Ansley is interviewing for Raiders secondary coach job.
