This is an extension of the MLB "proven veteran" phenomenon that often ends up costing managers their jobs.

Terrible hire and exactly the kind of thing I'd expect Orgeron to do. When he feels pressure, he tightens up and tries to pull everything in close to him, and work with stuff he knows. This is that entire philosophy distilled into a single hiring decision.

It was said often on TD last year that he was offered the permanent OC job and declined due to the workload.
Now O basically has his Yes Man in place and it will be his downfall.
This also what you get when you spend 2.5M on one side of the ball.

He has had that job before I believe. Can't recall which coach it was...but I remember him having that position back in the past. Was it Curley Hallman's staff???

Les Miles comment when facing a challenge: "We are on the brink of expectancy for the challenge."

Coach O comment when facing a challenge: "Arrgh Orrorgh."

SEC DC comments: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"

Beware: Coach O will free him up so he can run his system.
