Just a bean counter here with a couple of summary notes: Along with the 5 NCs and 6 appearances in the NC game and 7 appearances in the playoff (both 2 and 4 team), the most remarkable feat, IMO, is the record against the top competition. Of course Bama also did not lose to an unranked opponent. There have been other programs who had a bit better overall winning % over 9 seasons, but likely none have been close to the number of games and wins over top competition. (Note too, that once you establish a high % it is very difficult to raise it. E.g., the SEC record is 63-9 which is 87.5%, the overall reg season record is 97-9, which is 91.5%; you can see that after you win your 63rd game, you have to win 34 in a row to increase that % 4 points from 87.5-91.5.) The record against top competition when it matters the most, i.e., SEC champ game and playoffs, is off of the charts at 13-2, 86.7%.

Overall record113-1290.4%
Regular season record99-991.7%
SEC record63-987.5%
Against ranked teams51-1281.0%
Top 1025-778.1%
Top 514-573.7%
Number 16-185.7%
SEC championship5-0100%
Playoff (2 and 4 team)8-280.0%
NC game5-183.3%

Bama has played in seven AP 1 vs 2 matchups with a 5-2 record, no one else had played in more than 2, no one else has won more than one such matchup. (There have only been 51 in history - 1936 forward - and Bama has played in the most: 11, 21.5% and won the most: 7., ND is 2nd at 10 appearances and 5 wins and 2 ties, OU is 3rd at 8 and 1, yes OU is 1-7.)

Good grief, we are spoiled. This has been a phenomenal run, and I really appreciate all the hard work that went into it. However, I still hope it isn't over. I'd like to see a few more titles before Saban retires. See what I mean? Spoiled!

This is awesome. I will keep on saying: "nothing but a winner" :BigA: RTR
I lived through the entire Bryant Era and LOVED almost every minute of it, but this is just Amazing. That 4:00 p.m. show on Sundays in football season was the very best show on TV back then. Incredible! Awesome! It is truly great to be an Alabama fan during this period of time, no matter where you live. Even in the Houston, TX area, Bama fans are EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! RTR!!!!!!!

I walked into a restaurant on Tuesday morning with an ALABAMA sweatshirt on (the same one I had on during the game), and a table of at least 5 ladies (I's say 50+ in age), stopped me to say what an AWESOME game that was on Monday night.

If I were to CROAK today, I'd leave you with a huge SMILE on my face, but I'd still like to see a few more of these NC's before entering that Eternal Future.

Compare those numbers to the 9 years prior and you'll appreciate it even more.
