I bet it is Partride. We are in a need of a recruiting overhaul and his on-field coaching acumen seems strong. Would seem to be a situation where he'd have to be offered a Co-DC title or something because I doubt he'd make a lateral move unless the ship is truly sinking in Ann Arbor.

A personality conflict with Harbaugh is not out of the question.

I think telling CNS the conditions on which you are willing to come is not a winning tactic. I have heard Coach Cochran say that his entire interview process was a phone call that went like this:

CSC: Hello.
CNS: I'm taking the Alabama job. You in?
CSC: I'm in.
CNS: I'll get you the details. (Hangs up).
