Side by side painting of that and the release in one frame....
I concur. It was truly a thing of beauty.Almost impossible to top a walk off TD catch in OT to come from behind to win the NC. I'm sure he'll have many more big catches but hard to top the biggest single play in Alabama football history (my opinion). I'm still amazed at the throw and the catch.
Not as easy as it looks, that ball is hissing when it arrives, you have to stop it first and then hang on.Great catch. But how could he have not caught it? Tua put it right in his hands. He never broke his stride. One thing he did really well, was get up ahead of his defender. He made a smooth move at the LOS.
And not only that , but realizing you can win your team a national championship? A lot if guys hands could go cold and clammy right about thenNot as easy as it looks, that ball is hissing when it arrives, you have to stop it first and then hang on.
He also caught the "whirling-dervish" ball from Tua in the Vandy game. 2 super important plays in 8 catches and one more for the highlight reel. Two game winning catches this year. Keep it up and he's going to be a 1st round pick in two years.
The over the shoulder catch is actually a pretty easy catch. You just kind of stick your hands out there and the ball falls in. Still it was a very beautiful amazing catchNot as easy as it looks, that ball is hissing when it arrives, you have to stop it first and then hang on.
Thats what I'm talking about. The pressure, the tension, etc. It could drive you crazy. So many things worked right this play:And not only that , but realizing you can win your team a national championship? A lot if guys hands could go cold and clammy right about then
It appears initially he really wasn't expecting to get the ball. Then about a quarter into his route he glances back and sees the ball coming to him and has just enough recovery speed to change gears and get to it.
Interviews say differently, but it all sounds good after the fact.It appears initially he really wasn't expecting to get the ball. Then about a quarter into his route he glances back and sees the ball coming to him and has just enough recovery speed to change gears and get to it.
Yeah, who knows? I just know you can plainly see him running one speed initially, then when he looks back and sees the ball. He shifts gears very quickly and begins running at a faster pace. But either way the outcome is still the same. He caught the ball and we went home CHAMPIONS!!!!Interviews say differently, but it all sounds good after the fact.
