Somewhat semantics. The official start of the senate recess was Monday Aug 5. El Paso was Saturday Aug 3, Dayton Sun Aug 4.

Just so I am sure I understand your argument.

Take a bad actor that wants to hurt multiple people. Is it your stance is that there is no fundamental difference in potential loss of life between a knife being used, and a gun being used?

There is simply no equivalence between the harm that can be done with a gun and the harm that can be done with a knife.

Maybe in a shorter period of time can that be true. Serial killers hardly ever use guns as weapons yet they’ve done way more killings than the people have recently.

Yes, there is. Both are deadly weapons, and, the added stealth provided by a knife can be just as deadly as someone with a gun.
