Clean some things up and we can win this. I’m a bit surprised how much faster we are than them.

Also, 10 is the shooter. Guard him before he gets the ball in his hands.

How can you not know white guy is gonna play for the last shot as a 3 and defend him for that very scenario? I mean if you play him tight and don’t let him get a clean shot off it increases his shot difficulty or makes him take another step and try to drive stepping inside the line for a 2. Ugh!!!!

On the bright side, if Divincenzo hits a little cold streak in the second half, Nova might not score at all for a few minutes. :biggrin2:

The reffing has been absolute Bull. We hit the 1and1 bonus with 10:55 left in the half. Nova actually upped their aggressiveness and contact, we got 2 calls in almost 11 minutes of basketball. I try to cut refs some slack, but that’s absolute garbage. The block on Key was the worst call I’ve seen this tournament. He was in good defensive position, beat the player to the spot, the offensive player lowered his shoulder, and it still was called on Key. That charge should have been reffing 101.

You’re right. At one point he was their only scorer for 11 minutes. Unfortunately for us he was on fire.

Nova's one guy seems to be on fire right now, the rest have been meh. If we can cover this guy and not let him shoot 3's at will, we might be OK.

We’ve also had some good looks in the paint which didn’t fall. That also can be fixed. We’ve put ourselves in a position to win this. With the exception of 10, Villanova looks a bit surprised we can play with them.

On the blocking call....wasn't Key's feet still moving when he was hit?

Isn't that what defines whether it's a charge or a block?

9+ Three's? That's asking a lot.

Villanova sat a couple of players with 2 fouls. #10 may not be the one to worry about in the 2nd half but I don't want to see him get a decent look to give him a chance to keep it up.

One last comment - I would like to see more penetration to the basket and either get points or get fouled. Of course, you gotta make those FTs for this strategy to work....
