Mrs. Basket Case, Harley and Maggie (the cats), and I all made it through fine. Bad stuff was about a mile from us.

Had a safe place prepped, and hunkered for a few minutes with bicycle helmets and some stuff we can’t replace in a closet with at least three walls between us and the outside. Streamed Fox6 on our phones through their weather app, and just having the information at hand was an incredible relief.

It appears that the tornado touched down somewhere around Tuscaloosa’s most upscale residential area, fronting Lake Tuscaloosa. At least, that’s where the debris signature was reported on the TV.

No injuries have been reported, but a lot of coaches live there, and I’m hoping all of them, their families, and their homes are in good shape.

we were woken up by weather alerts around 2:30 this morning. debris field on radar passed about 1 mile south of us, between us and the airport. it started dissipating as it passed east point. thankfully, so far, it looks like the only damage in the surrounding area is some trees and such down.

News reports are that it mostly hit North Georgia the hardest.

Tornadoes in Seneca -- next to Clemson -- and down here in Charleston -- about 20 miles away from us. Still learning about the damage...lots of trees down and houses with them...hearing minimal life loss.

Just watched a pine tree come down in my back yard. No tornadoes here, but the wind gusts are wicked.
