Holy crap.

I don't think denuclearization has different meanings for South and North Korea," Moon said during a lunch with chief executives of Korean media companies. "The North is expressing a will for a complete denuclearization."

"They have not attached any conditions that the U.S. cannot accept, such as the withdrawal of American troops from South Korea," he continued. "All they are talking about is the end of hostile policies against North Korea, followed by a guarantee of security."

I think they are broke and must make concessions to pay the bills

Well, Trump wins again.

Before Trump: NK with nukes
After Trump tells them off: NK puts down the sword

(I don’t believe this, I’m just trying to beat him to Twitter and his telling us all how awesome he is)

Hope this is for real. Those guys are beyond crazy, and I'm not sure I'd trust them if they said the sky was blue.

Something tells me we have not heard the rest of the story. Kim Jong Un is no fool, on the other hand Trump is. We will have to wait and see how much this win will cost the US taxpayer.

Actually Trump may be the reason for it. They are as aware as we are how unstable he is.

Two of the most unstable narcissists on the planet will meet. Wonderful.

Article is dated 10 January 2018. I wonder if there is a more current one?
No idea, but I think it paints a picture of South Korean President Moon Jae-in as being a very clever politician.

I'm not unwilling to give Trump any credit, but I think Occam's razor points to Moon Jae-in.

This is astonishing. I'm still skeptical regarding Kim's motives, but am hoping the combination of increased sanctions and a Commander In Chief who might truly be willing to press the Big Red Button has actually opened Un's eyes regarding joining the 21st century.

After the second and final round of closed-door talks, the leaders emerged again and sat together to sign a joint "Panmunjom Declaration" agreeing to work toward the "complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula" and a formal end to the war.

Officially dubbed the Panmunjom Declaration for Peace, Prosperity, Unification of the Korean Peninsula, the agreement calls for both sides:
- To completely cease all hostile acts s on land, sea, air
- To transform the Demilitarized Zone into a "peace zone"
- To stop propaganda broadcasts, leafleting starting May 1
- Area near the western northern limit line to be turned into a maritime peace zone to prevent sudden naval clashes
- To hold military talks in May

After the signing ceremony both men walked outside together and gave remarks at side-by-side podiums. Moon said new offices would be established in both North and South Korea to facilitate economic cooperation, and a new liaison office in the Northern border city of Kaesong, where both sides would continue to hold meetings on denuclearization. Kaesong, a joint industrial complex that had workers from both sides of the border, was shuttered several years ago as tensions mounted anew.

Kim thanked Moon for hosting the summit, calling him "brother," and saying they had both realized "we cannot be separated. We are one nation."

Moon has agreed to visit North Korea's capital of Pyongyang this autumn for another round of talks.
Koreas agree to work toward "complete denuclearization"

I don't know that reunification will happen, but this is potentially a huge step in freeing millions of North Koreans from this oppressive regime.

that plus the previous 12 years of crippling sanctions, a flow of actual information into the North letting them know what the real world is actually like and their nuclear site collapsing on itself didn't hurt either but I am willing to give Trump credit here. He seems to have out crazied the crazies. I do not believe this tactic will work anywhere else, like Iran so I am both happy and concerned
