Fsu Kicker Fined After Taping Sexual Encounter

Trouble keeps coming for football players at Florida State - on Monday kicker Scott Bentley received 40 hours of community service and a $500 fine after pleading no contest to charges he illegally taped a sexual interlude.

Bentley, who kicked the game-winning field goal in FSU's national title victory over Nebraska in the Orange Bowl, admitted making an audio tape of an encounter with Florida A&M student Heather A. Bates in February at her apartment.

Sentencing records show Bentley later played the tape for a couple of friends and teammates, and Bates complained to police on April 7.

Florida is one of four states where taping someone without their knowledge is illegal.

Bentley, a sophomore from Aurora, Colo., will perform his community service by working on a road crew. He is not allowed to have any contact with Bates and was placed on six months probation.

Bentley and Bates had been dating, and Bentley told officials he made a recording of their consensual sexual intercourse sometime in February.

He played the tape for teammates Sean Liss and Aaron Dely, and another friend, David Williams.

Liss told investigators he destroyed the tape a week after it was made.

''I was trying to protect myself,'' Bentley said. ''I was protecting myself against potential false allegations that could be brought up in the future.''

Why did he destroy it if he was using it for his protection...? DOUBLE DUH...!

I can understand a player taping sex to protect themselves in the current environment, but if that is their true purpose and the girl is really into them, ask (on tape). If the girl says no to the video tape then you have to choose - have sex without the taping, or take her home. If you don't trust her, take her home. I mean, do you really want to have to deal with a Rueben Foster scenario?

Granted, I've never done that or even suggested doing it. But I could see a girl letting a guy film it just because it sounds kinky and exotic. But then they don't consider the fact they could be the next internet porn star. A friend once told me there is a youtube type site where people can post homemade porn.

Nobody should let anybody take pictures or film them naked. I know a situation where a young woman was engaged to someone and it went sour. The guy had some pictures of her in the nude and put them on a site I believe was call some kind of revenge site. Cost her family a lot of money to get them pulled off. I don't believe you can do that now because I think they made it illegal.

Get the girl to look at the camera and say "I consent to the sex, but not to having it taped."

I tell my daughter's to pay attention with who you're with now more than ever or where you're at going out on dates..With all these fancy surveillance equipment, folks can go online & order nowadays with a click of a button, it puts our daughters in more danger than ever to this kinda sexual predators..

You can literally be recorded using the bathroom from what I've read or be recorded like this young Lady was in the article(Not that Ive googled it or anything like that..LOL) it's definitely a different world our kids are having to grow up in & deal with..It makes females that much more vulnerable than ever before & that scares the crap out of this Daddy of two young Ladies..

I'm in no way blaming the females at all..I'm just stating exactly what I've told & tell my Baby Girls, even though one just graduated from high school & the other will in a couple years..They're both still & I'll always call them my Baby Girls..
