2018 will be the year that truly defines Saban as the greatest ever, imo - with the staff turnover he's had to deal with, any other team would likely falter. I'm betting Bama doesn't, simply because of Saban...

Great coach, and he's earned it. Just think how much this would have hurt had he still been the OL coach and retired this year.

Tremendous contributions through the many seasons Coach Pendry`s been associated with the program and the University. RTR to CJP, best of everything in retirement, and thanks so very much.

Joe was an older brother to Nick. They're very close, Saban's best friend, besides Miss Terry. Many don't understand that since Pendry's "retirement" from coaching the OL at UA, that he remained a very close liaison to Nick. In fact, Saban never hired a coach without discussing the person with Pendry. Likewise Joe always reviewed every OL video that the Tide offered a scholarship. He also attended every game as a member of the official coaching party riding on the team bus. Watched every game, helped prepare for all opponents and was a top behind-the-scenes staffer.

Well......Coach P....after reading all these accolades and such....dontcha think maybe...you could be " retired "....but just sort of.....stick around ?? Kinda ?

People in the State system over here in Georgia retire all the time...but they never really go away.
