An Oklahoma state legislator wants to create a MAGA specialty license plate. The money raised from the fee would go to a veterans group.

No, the plate doesn’t mention Trump. But a state license plate shouldn’t have a political message. I would feel the same way if someone was creating a plate with a Democrat’s slogan.

But this would pass overwhelmingly in Alabama and probably will there.

An anguished Chris Collins faces 26 months in prison

NEW YORK – Chris Collins cried so hard that many of his words got lost in his anguish.

But that act of contrition only meant so much to U.S. District Court Judge Vernon S. Broderick, who on Friday sentenced Collins to 26 months in prison for launching an insider trading scheme with a call to his son from a White House picnic in June 2017.

When Collins, 69, walked out of the courtroom, it signaled the stunning end of a public life that saw him become a wealthy entrepreneur, the Erie County executive and a member of Congress who became a close ally of President Trump by virtue of his early and passionate support for Trump.

this could go in many threads but I guess is best here

These pieces in left leaning magazines are the definition of clickbait. They amount to reaffirming that the GOP is soon to be on its last legs as this is finally the straw that will turn Americans against the party.

Which i think most of us know is horse poop.

Americans will not vote for change until they are uncomfortable. Right now, even though there are many who are working multiple jobs, and are not being served by this economy, there are far more who will stand in line all day to vote to keep Trump in. Whether it’s because he makes them feel more special than the browns, or patriotic because they are keeping the socialists out, or religious because they are helping cure the gays, or righteous because they are keeping the babbys alive, he ticks the box on all of those.

Fundamentally the left is too fractured, and unwilling to compromise or be pragmatic. That coupled with disenfranchisement, suppression, and working two jobs, it is the perfect storm. Even if Democrats could get motivated, the numbers they need are going to be too busy on voting day to get to the polls.

btw the auto filter isn’t working anymore. I was rereading and realized that I let one slip, and it didn’t get filtered.

In my experience, most people are doing better than they did under Obama. Most everyone has the all the work they want and see a future that is less dismal wrt earning the money they need to support their families.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND I'm not saying that outlook has anything to do with Trump - I simply believe he's enjoying the benefits of some manipulations based on the Obama administration's work repairing the train-wreck they inherited from the end of the Bush administration.

But regardless - MOST people look at their current condition, look at who is in the WH, and give them the blame / credit.

IOW, unless something catastrophic happens between now and Nov, the dems cannot run on economy / jobs, even if those who are employed are working two jobs to make ends meet. That hurts them, and it's literally has little to do with Obama's or Trump's policies (wrt how they are perceived).

I agree.

In fact....just something basic like the price of gasoline has a huge influence on the average voter's thinking.

We could spend a lot of time going into other reasons why Trump will get votes but much of it is the economy.

It really is that simple. I am not sure how the DNC overcomes this economy. Somehow they have to get enough swing votes in the swing states. I am just not sure that it is possible.

Former White House staffers who were fired by Donald Trump held their first reunion on Easter Sunday in Houston’s Astrodome.
The event, which drew a crowd of approximately sixty-five thousand people, had been organized by the recently axed Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson.
