Uruguay’s defense was stifling. Kept their lines tight and clogged the box. They were not going to let Ronaldo score. He willed them to victory in the previous rounds with four goals. A good defensive team like Uruguay shut him down.
France and Uruguay were just better teams in spite of their opposition having 2 of the 3 best players in the world.
I also saw the VW commercial with the other countries trolling the US. It was both funny and embarrassing.

I think Russia wins of PKs. It reminds me a lot of Detroit Red Wings games in the 90's. Completely dominate and fail to score then lose on bad luck.
I hate PKs but at least they settle something on the field.
