It's hard for me to imagine a viable candidate I'd think less of than Trump. I might vote Trump over Roy Moore just to save my state from shame, but no other names jumping to mind.

And like I said on the first page, we would really need to know more about the "conditional" Trump voters. I suspect there's a lot of variability in that category.
I agree 100%. Many Trump voters I know only voted for him expecting Gorsuch to be nominated and confirmed. Once he did that, the ones I know seem a bit ambivalent to his other decisions, or have been critical of his decisions.

No.

I have zero faith in the Democrats to not adopt the attitude of, "Now that they've seen Trump, we need a COMMITTED socialist since we're going to win" and nominate a complete nutbag left-wing extremist. IF they can give me a responsible candidate (a Carter, a Bob Kerrey, a Bill Clinton without all the personal baggage) with a somewhat middle of the road record, then I'll go for the Democrat.

There are zero circumstances where I would ever vote for Donald J. Trump.

Economy? The reality is that Presidents have virtually nothing to do with the economy at all (they get credit and blame, but it's not that simple).

Peace? I'm sorry but the number one criteria for a President should be "can they be trusted with the nuclear weaponry." For all that bad I can say about the candidates in my lifetime, not one of them was so nutty that I actually worried about the start of WW3. Even Hillary, for all her bad baggage, I don't think would just arbitrarily start firing missiles to launch a war.

I'm not convinced that's true about Trump. Indeed, I'm not so sure that his continued tongue bathing of Russia isn't the only thing keeping him from being crazy enough to launch a first strike at them.

I might have worried that some of them might have been too soft, but I've never been worried that one of them might be stupid enough to act impulsively without thinking on that issue. (No, not even Sarah Palin).

I have NO such confidence in President (Secret) Agent Orange.

Biased as in speaking truth to the lier-in-cheif?
No. I meant biased as in left or right leaning depending on the channel you pick. I wish there would be some sort of readily definitive break between news and commentary.

I think the biggest takeaway from this poll is that there are a ton of people who come here and don't comment lol.

I think the Russians are messing with this poll......no way Trump can be this popular!
He is. There's just a really bad echo chamber IRT politics here. Anyone who has a dissenting opinion is met by the same 3 or 4 people who attack the person instead of the issue. Rather peculiar..

Nah. It's more because y'all don't (and probably can't) defend his policies. I've never seen a Trump supporter here defend, for instance, stripping immigrant toddlers from the arms of their mothers, or consistently abusing the presidency to profit himself and cronies. And when folks try to provide evidence or arguments, they're usually based in falsehoods.

If anyone breaks the law in American then children get separated from the parents. If you want to quibble about where they're housing the children that's fine but should they be housed in 5* hotels while the issue with the parents are worked out? To your second point, every president has used the position to profit himself and cronies. Clinton, Obama - all of them.

It's like you can't separate that most people who "support" Trump do not agree with everything he says and does but he was better than the alternative in our eyes..

You could almost say people weren’t actually concerned that Hillary was some kind of a criminal since they’re perfectly fine continuing to support one that doesn’t even blink at bragging about how his personal lawyer won’t flip on him after being arrested among many other things they were supposedly sure Hillary would do but are a-ok with Trump doing them.

To be fair. I know some Trump supporters who think Hillary literally murdered 5 people. So, in their eyes I suppose its possible they saw Trump as the more moral option?

That’s the problem. They no longer live in a world with facts. It’s easy to support something when they never learned the most valuable lesson in cinematic history.

I think the mods do a great job of keeping the mean old liberals from being too harsh on Trump's snowflake supporters.

we do not separate parents from their children in this country for Misdemeanor offenses. Taking kids in this instance is the same as taking kids for jaywalking or speeding
