Just Monday someone on the radio was saying how “boring” this offseason was and how nothing had happened to talk about at media days next week. I said a word or two and slammed my steering wheel because I knew the jinx was on. Then BAM! Cowan dismissed for assault then TLew goes down!!! So glad we have depth but he was such a beast I was looking forward to seeing on the field again. Best wishes for a quick recovery!!!

You can chalk this one up as desperately groping for some semblance of a silver lining, I suppose. At least the timing could have been worse, as in, say, the week before Louisville. The staff can at least plan and extensively rep some people. Not to mention the important aspect of some younger guys having some time to " get their minds right " and prepare psychologically for bigger contributions than might have originally been thought necessary. It`s something, anyway!

Well, yes, but we'll presumably have someone get seriously hurt the week before Louisville, someone get seriously hurt during the Louisville game, and then before and/or during every big game after that. Most will be LBs.

Well, it`s certainly really been hard to argue any of what you say !! Maybe we`ll have better fortunes this year. We`re damned sure due !

I'm wondering in wake of this injury if any of the true freshman can play that position, Eyabi Anoma and Cameron Latu are both built similarly to Lewis, I just don't know if they are the same type of athlete.
Anoma's film looks incredible. You never know - there are examples of players that have a hard time adjusting - but he looks like someone who can contribute immediately.

Especially if you can use him in 3rd/long situations.....where he has one job

At the very least he could be a pass rusher specialist. Maybe not play a whole lot on 1st or 2nd but come in on 3rd down at times.

I still wonder if they end up giving Moses more time outside than they originally planned.

I don't think that they can now with Cowan gone.
They could put him outside when in dime package. Mack will likely be the ILB because of his coverage skills. IDK if they were already intending to use him that way a lot or not though.

They really need to be ready to contribute, if at all possible. I think that the staff will really try to work at least Anoma in.

Moses has also been taking reps as the Money DB in dime since we don't have a lot of experienced depth at S and he's got the speed for it.

My bet is Parks and Allen will be the next guys up since they've already got the mass to hold up against SEC OL. Anoma and Latu could sub in as pure pass rushers but will need to spend some time with Cochran before they are 3 down guys or even used much in nickel.

It doesn't matter. It still has to be grafted...
Do you know if the treatment protocol has changed? I was told I had an almost complete tear and was put in a heavy brace for a few months. Doc told me not to ever put any pressure on the leg without the brace because the slightest thing could finish it off and I would have to have surgery. This was over 25 years ago. Never had a problem since with that knee. But I have been putting off shoulder surgery for 2 years because since I only partially tore the rotator, I was hoping it might eventually heal. Are you squashing my dreams of avoiding the knife or is this apples and hammers? ;)

I had surgery on my right shoulder for a rotator. Just don't let that shoulder 'Freeze up'. My surgery was in 2010, and it is much better today, but it still wakes me up at night. My shoulder had bone spurs which began to act like a sawblade. Hopefully yours is not such a case. If it freezes up....the therapy is worse than the surgery. Trust me. Keep exercising that arm. I avoided using mine in thinking that it needed rest. Yours MAY heal, but get therapy anyway. I didn't have a choice. I lost almost 50% tendon strength. Roughest thing I ever dealt with physically. Hopefully yours doesn't have to be that way.

Really enjoyed watching that young man play football. He was becoming a terror to an Offensive line he was. Still will if things go well for him. Hightower came back. Lewis can also. God Bless #24! Get well Terrell!

The conservative treatment your doctor prescribed is just not open to an athlete who wants to continue his athletic career. The question is not even if it's a partial or total tear. The question is whether the knee is unstable or not. Nine out of ten times, the Lachman maneuver they perform at the side of the field (don't see it any more because of the tent) tells the story - surgery or no surgery. And I'd second Tenntiderman - I've had surgery on both shoulders. When they went in my right shoulder, they discovered, despite a normally-functioning shoulder, I had no rotator cuff and hadn't in a long time. Therapy and exercise are the answer...
