Alex Avila pitched 2 scoreless innings tonight. Yes you read that right:)

My Rockies beat the D'backs 19-2 tonight so they broke down and let their 3B and C both pitch tonight. Avila went 2 innings and gave up only 1 hit.

Daniel Descalso didn't fare as good. He went 2.2 giving up 4 hits, 3 runs (all earned) 1 walk, 1K and 2 of the 4 hits were home runs. His 8.10 ERA will be hard to top for awhile:biggrin:

Also oddly enough on the same night, Alex Blandino pitched for the Reds as the Indians beat them 19-4. He went 1 inning giving up 1 hit and K'd 2 batters. He even hit 90 on one strikeout.

Just figured y'all would enjoy that:biggrin:

Hey, catchers usually have really good arms so it shouldn't come as a shock. Plus you have to wonder if the hitters lose a wee bit of their edge when facing a guy like Avila?
