Growing up in Ohio, Alabama seemed so far away it was pretty much a dream to think I could see the Tide play in person. I was able to go to a couple of games, just kind of by luck, being in the right place the right weekend. In the late 90's I figured it was just a weekend trip to make a game, so I started going more often. My goal is to see Bama play in each SEC venue. I've made to all of them except for MSU, Texas A&M and Missouri. And I've seen 8 games in BDS, plus this year's spring game.
(1) 1980 Knoxville, Coach Bryant’s last victory in Neyland. My uncle lived in Knoxville, and I had to make a trip there, so I planned it for the Third Saturday in October
(2) 1994/95 Citrus Bowl vs Ohio State. I was assisting with a marching band at the time, and we were performing in the Citrus Bowl parade. the game turned out to be my team vs. my Alma Mater, so I had to stay on a day or two and see the game.
(3) 1996 Georgia Dome, SEC Championship game vs Florida, also 2014 vs West Virginia and 2015 SEC Championship game vs Florida
(4) 2002 Vandy, the stands were 80% Crimson
(5) 2003 Hawaii, great trip disappointing game
(6) 2004, 2009, and 2013 Kentucky, I can do that in a day from Ohio
(7) 2004 LSU-should have won this game, horrible no PI happened right in front of me, changed the momentum of the game
(8) 2005 South Carolina, great game
(9) 2005 Ol Miss, won on field goal as time expired
(10) 2006 Florida at the Swamp
(11) 2008 Georgia, the Black Out game
(12) 2009 Iron Bowl
(13) 2010 Rose Bowl National Championship
(14) 2010 Arkansas
Altogether, Alabama is 20-6 in the games I attended.
