Alex Byington@_AlexByingtonAfter repeatedly complaining about an apparent gap between #Alabama's expected starters and the rest of his roster, I asked Nick Saban how concerned he was with the team's quality depth beyond the first-team unit with a week left in preseason.

Not sure how many linebackers we got in the last recruiting cycle, but we need to get almost double that amount for next year at this rate. Two years in a row with LB depth issues! Makes me feel nauseous for the team and for those individuals who work so hard at practice then get hurt.
Having a brand new secondary doesn't help things either, but at least the team has a few games to get used to it before Ole Miss and Texas AM.
Who's left at linebacker for 2nd/3rd string?
I think that Saban was more upset about the poor play of the young guys than anything else. These injuries have proven that you are going to have to have these guys contribute. Saban said it last year - injuries present opportunities. Now, who is going to step up?
The SID was nervous as a mouse in a snake cage after Saban let the “snot” out. Watch him figget as Coach keeps talking. Its hilarious.

Both QBs had good days. Tua has 3 TD passes, Jalen had 2. Jalen also had a couple of beautiful long balls. Jacobs had 2 rushing tds. Waddle had 2 Rec tds and about 150yds.

This is a very good point. I’m not sure we will be able to lean on the defense as much as we have the last two years under Jalen.

Waddle had 2(TDs), 1 from each QB. Jalen threw another to Ruggs, had 2 deep balls to Waddle and Smith. Tua’s other 2 went to Marks and Kief (which was a laser through a tight window).

Waddle and Riggs split time returning punts. Apparently Waddle looked great there too and almost broke one and probably would have if it was a live play.
When it comes to special teams...
Jones hit a 49 yarder FG on the first drive. Bulovas later hit a 47. He also had one blocked. Punting was less than stellar.

Not surprised Bulovas had one blocked. My only concern with him in the spring game were his kicks being too low.
So if we look at the QB stats that we know about over 2 scrimmages we have Tua with 6 TD's 0 INT's and Jalen with 2 TD's 4 INT's.
