We all saw Tua do some remarkable things last year. We most of us probably believed that Jalen was still ahead of him in game management and ball security. This might have lead us to underestimate some of the crazy stuff he was doing, or even mark him down for doing it, because elite QBs don't do crazy stuff like that.

But it turns out that crazy is routine for Tua, it is inside his envelope. He is not working hard, putting a ball in a 1 foot window 50 yards downfield. This realization started for me against Ole Miss, an SEC foe. In my own head, trying to put this in perspective, I've run out of hyperbole. Tua's worse game is as good as the record-holder's average game, Tua's best game we probably haven't seen yet but it is already 400. This is silly. Noone is that far above the most elite of the elite, surely?

I think we all saw the potential, but he found another gear this year. That's part of what makes it so remarkable, he was good then but this is at the top of even the highest expectations.

To give an example, in 8 games last year his top 3 rated games were 232, 218, and 211 (and some of those were small sample sizes). This year his worst 3 performances in 6 games are 224, 225, and 235.

To give another example though of the type of season he's having, in three seasons as a starter here's AJ's best six games: 240, 254, 341, 220, 263, and 212.
This year Tua has gone 235, 238, 224, 225, 316, and 394. He's making the exceptional ordinary.

I'm just hoping he stays healthy and highly productive, both on the field and in the classroom, anything else is gravy.

Anyone know anything about Tua possibly having some trouble with one or both knees? I read that he was wearing braces on both at yesterday's practice and was limping some. It did sound like he was able to practice so I assume he is ok.

Well, Tua's injury threw him off and he had what was his worst game of the season. Even at that, he still had a 200 rating. We just have to hope he can get a big lead early against Tennessee and the off week can get him healthy again.

Even though Tua wasn't fully himself, he still had a higher rating than Haskins, but it does seem to be lining up to be Haskins raw totals vs. Tua's remarkable efficiency. Grier's chances completely imploded. You can't throw for 100 yards, 1 interception, and 1 TD in an upset loss.

I'm one of Tua's biggest fans.... like almost John Doe level man-crush and I don't give a flying flip about the Heisman anymore for the time being.

I just want to get Tua back as close to 100% as possible. Our entire Championship aspirations hinge on him being the Trigger Man that makes the Offensive show click.

Worried about Smitty too for that matter......and Ruggs III.

I'm kind of hoping CNS starts Jalen against Tennessee. Let's beat them as ugly as possible.....I can even deal with a close loss if that 2-3 week break get's Tua back to being fully healthy.

We could hypothetically survive a cross division loss to them and win out and still make the playoff as 12-1 SEC Champs.

We cannot afford a Pyrrhic win against them where Tua aggravates his knee again or makes it worse to the point it hobbles him the rest of the way.

Maybe I'm overreacting but this is worrying to me. Even as much as Jalen has improved there is an EXTREME drop-off in Offensive production when Tua leaves the game.

He makes us 20-30 Points better per half. This year's D while improving needs our Offense to carry us overall going forward. If we become almost 1-dimensional again it's lights out on this season.

Forget the Heisman, forget Tennessee,..... the #1 Priority is getting Tua Healthy.

Get outta here with that nonsense.
If I had to choose I'd rather win the War than 1 battle.

I'm not saying I expect or want a loss but IF it happened and the trade off was Tua being 100% I could deal.

The National Championship is on the table at 12-1. It's not on the table no matter our record if Tua is out of commission.
