I still carry a pager and use a fax machine. Healthcare.
Fax Machines are still really common in the Financial industry. I have clients asking me all the time if they can scan and email or just take a photo of our forms and email them but until this past year we couldn't accept any of our forms unless it was mailed or faxed back. We literally just added e signature forms but thats only for some forms.

Even still, because we have a lot of elderly clients, a surprising number of people still prefer faxing for whatever reason.

Liquid paper was the first thought I had. Just this past year I finally gave up my landline.

AUDub: Thankfully, I no longer need a pager. That I need a fax machine is ridiculous. That I don't use secured electronic transmission instead is crazy. And using CD's to move images is pathetic.

What is your definition of “old”? I’m in my early 40’s and remember every single one of them.

Vinyl records are actually already back in or making a comeback in a lot of musical circles. You used to go to any flea market and get them dang near free. Now, they sell at premiums at a lot flea markets and collector shows.
there are 3 stores I am aware of within 10 miles of me dedicated to Vinyl. 2 of them sell nothing but.

I read where typewriters may be making a comeback to a certain degree. We still have a VHS although we never use it. I have all my kids old Disney movies when they were small. I guess I'm just holding on to the past a little too tightly now that two are launched and I'm two years from launching the last one. My wife wants to get rid of them and I'm just not quite ready.

Phone books...makes me think of the movie "The Intern" with Robert De Niro.

That's what I was thinking - except I'm still in my 30s! I'm pretty sure I've used - or at least seen in person - every single one of those items at some time in my lifetime.

I was a grown man when most of these were introduced, so I remember the technologies that preceded them.

I remember in 1978 I was trying to decide between 8-track tape and cassette for the player I was buying for my car (I went with a Caig 8-Track - oops).

In the mid-80s I was a technician for an alternative long-distance company. When working the late shift we'd spend half the night calling "900" porn messages (over WATS lines - anyone remember those?).

Providing long-distance service for payphones was a huge, money-making business, especially for the owners of the payphones. I traveled a lot and the first thing every business traveler did after a getting off the plane was rush to the payphones.

However, I steadfastly refuse to consider the calculator watch and the CD "obsolete" !

When I worked in Dothan, I had to carry a pager. Ansell(where I worked at the time) was too cheap to get nationwide service, so the pager would only reach within the Dothan area...which meant you were screwed on weekends if you had plans out of town, like the beach. And our goofball I.T. director threatened to fire anyone who didn't answer a page.

So I took the pager with me to the beach, left it on. Never missed a page, but if I did, I would have told him, "I had my pager on all weekend and it never buzzed."
