Perhaps if “Mama hadn’t come calling” CPB would have made A&M a force to be reckon with. After he left they went underwater again.

That’s true, and whoever thinks A&M has always had some kinda of crazy money advantage should have seen its facilities in the SWC and Big XII years. Nothing special. Population explosion and moving to the SEC has really provided the differentiation and $$$ needed for A&M to have great facilities, hire Jimbo, etc. and stand apart from the other Texas schools.
