I'm so glad I asked this question.....

ALABAMA LOSSES BY 31 POINTS OR MORE
1895 Auburn (48)
1900 Auburn (48)
1900 Clemson (35)
1903 Cumberland (44)
1905 Vandy (34)
1905 Sewanee (36)
1906 Vandy (78)
1907 Sewanee (50)
1910 Ga Tech (36)
1916 Tulane (33)
1948 Georgia (35)
1957 Auburn (40)
1987 Notre Dame (31)
1991 Florida (35)
1998 Arkansas (36)
1998 Va Tech (31)

GAMES WHERE ALABAMA HAS SURRENDERED 50 OR MORE POINTS
1900 Auburn (53)
1906 Vandy (78)
1907 Sewanee (54)
2003 Tennessee (51 - note it was a five overtime game, the teams were tied at 20 at the end of regulation)

BIGGEST LOSSES TO AUBURN
1893 - 40-16 (24)
1895 - 48-0 (48)
1900 - 53-5 (48)
1954 - 28-0 (28)
1956 - 34-7 (27)
1957 - 40-0 (40)

Notes

I would point out, however, that just because final scoreboard numbers show something doesn't really tell us a lot (in some cases) about how competitive the game was.

In 1982, we trailed Southern Miss in BDS by scores of 28-7 and 35-14......if you look at the final margin of 9 points, it doesn't look so bad. The same is true in the opposite direction of the 1982 Penn State game. Yes, we beat them 42-21 on the scoreboard, but with maybe five minutes or so left, we led by six. They tried a punt, and it hit their own blocker (he retreated too far back) and we got the ball at their ten and scored and then we picked off a desperate heave by Blackledge and ran it close and scored to put the game away.

Even the 2006 Florida score is deceptive because we were only down by eight with about six minutes left when JP Wilson threw a pick six.

Just for a few points of comparison....post-1969 (when I was born)

NOTRE DAME

Surrendered 50 points or more
1974 USC
1985 Miami
2014 Arizona St
2016 Texas (2 OT game, though)

31 point losses?
Nebraska (1972)
Pitt (1976)
Miami (1985, 2017)
Oregon St (2001 Fiesta)
Michigan (2003 and 2007)
FSU (2004)
USC (1974, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2014)

Notre Dame has more 31-point losses just to USC since 1974 than Alabama has overall since 1948.

NEBRASKA

50 points surrendered
2004 Texas Tech
2007 Kansas (76-39)
2007 Colorado (65)
2008 Mizzou
2008 Oklahoma
2012 Ohio St
2012 Wisconsin
2014 Wisconsin
2015 Purdue
2016 Ohio St
2017 Ohio St
2017 Minnesota
2017 Penn St
2017 Iowa

31 point losses
Oklahoma (1977, 1990, 2008
Penn St (2002)
Kansas St (2002)
Texas Tech (2004 - 60 point loss)
Kansas (2007)
Missouri (2008)
Wisconsin (2011, 2012, 2014
Ohio St (2016, 2017)
Minnesota (2017)
Iowa (2017)

Nebraska had FOUR games in six weeks in 2017 where they surrendered over 50 points

OHIO STATE

50 points surrendered
1994 Penn St (63)
2017 Iowa (55)

31 point losses
1986 Washington (33)
1988 Pitt (32)
1988 Indiana (34)

2008 USC (32)
2016 Clemson (31)
2017 Iowa (31)

Didn’t Bama lose by 32 to Nebraska in the 1972 Orange Bowl?

Nah.

I was a year old when the game was played, so I never saw it (never have, in fact).

I just clicked the page forward too rapidly is all. The moment I saw the reply I thought, "Yep, didn't include that one."

That is an incredible stat of not giving up 50 points in a game (in regulation) since 1907. I would bet that no other team is within 50 years of that.
