While the main focus is Auburn receivers, have to think this is also helping Alabama. Andrews and Company are probably testing out procedures on Alabama players, too. Explains guys coming back as fast as they have.

He was the orthopedic surgeon I talked to in 1990 when I had a severe break in my elbow and wrist (4 total breaks and no ligament damage at all). He was not as well known at that point.

He started out at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus Ga. He performed knee surgery on my dad in 1979. He has been at it for a while. The man must be in his late 70's

I'm going to try to find out more. The writeup is unclear as to whether they try to nourish a cadaver graft or an autograft from your own body. With stem cells, it seems as if it would almost have to be from your own body. Then, do they reattach it? That approach was abandoned decades ago, since it failed 100% of the time. I'm very curious...

Dr. Andrews has been amazing for many years. So glad he and his team is available to our team. I pray for many more years for you, Dr. Andrews!

On a similar note, Terrell Owens suffered a tib-fib fracture in December 2004, 6 weeks prior to Super Bowl 39. He had a great game despite a losing effort.

If his health's ok, he could go a few more years if he wishes at 75 or so. I would hazard a guess that he's busy training up the next generation of sports orthopedists.

One of his proteges there at Andrews, Dr. Davis, the GA Tech team doctor, replaced my hip...

FWIW...Jim Andrews works out of Pensacola I believe. He’s no longer in the building that bears his name at St Vincent’s in B’ham.
