I have ZERO faith in the student body as a whole to do what is asked. Some bunch of drunk idiots will ruin it for the entire stadium. Most will do it right, and it’s awesome when the whole crowd gets to rocking with it, but you have a small vociferous group that is going to put in the vulgarities and it’ll be gone for good.

    Let’s see...

    Night game.

    Homecoming.

Yeah, students will be well prepared to be loud in their singing of it.

Yes! I love Dixieland Delight! I'm glad to see we are going to stop being such prudes.

The students will sing the vulgarity and get it banned again. Personally I never cared for the song anyway even without the vulgar additions.

The original add ins were pretty tame, it’s too bad someone went and added vulgarity to them.
Having been one in my youth, I can tell you that drunk fraternity boys don’t pay much attention to anything an adult asks of them.

Dixieland Delight will be there Saturday, then not again for a long time.

Same here, I never liked the song. I just love the tradition of everyone singing it..minus the additions.

    Well intentioned, however...

Actually it is a ruse to get the students to stay until the 4th quarter and then they won't be able to find the soundtrack.

I find it humorous that Dixieland Delight got banned because of added lyrics, and I agree that they're too far, but Basket Case by Green Day is just as bad w/r/t to lyrics. I know they don't sing Basket Case, but still humorous to me.

This whole controversy is an example of what happens when a sport that used to be about and for the students becomes a billion dollar industry. Now, rather than wanting the students to have fun, we want the students to "show class"? Like any of the people making these decisions acted differently when they were young?

This is why youth is for the young. As we get older we forget how to really LIVE.

Or playing a certain C Murder song. Granted, no lyrics are played, but the song itself is pretty bad.
