Re: First Head Coaching Casualty of 2018

From the Marshall column posted in the Plain Trouble thread apparently he thinks it should be Gus.

Bowling Green fires Mike Jinks on October 15. He was 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the MAC. He went 7-24 and 5-14 overall. Carl Pelini (brother of Bo) was named interim coach.

With cooler temperatures come hotter coaching seats. We had our first firing today. I'll add any more firings as they happen.

Not sure who's next on the chopping block, maybe Brennan at San Jose St. He's like 2-17 last year and this. Or David Beaty @ 5-37 since 2015.

One source has the current top 10 as:

1. Beaty-Kansas
2. Ash-Rutgers
3. Gus/bus- U. of Auburn
4. Edsall-Uconn
5. Fedora-UNC
6. Brennan-San Jose St.
7. Petrino-UL
8. Smith - Ill
9. Johnson-GT
10. Gundy-Okie Lite

Gus isn't going anywhere.

Auburn beat the #1 and #2 team last season.

They are 4-2 so far this season.

I don't see any SEC coaches on the hot seat - not until next season at a minimum.

Yeah, they're 4-3 right now. They're looking at going no better than 7-5 if they're lucky, though.

They have lost to Tennessee, Miss St. and LSU so far. They still have Georgia and Alabama to play. The Gus bus is riding on all flat tires right now.

Re: 2018-19 Coaching Carousel

Gus isn't going anywhere...as long as he has a great year every 3 years or so then he is fine. In their world last year was a great year.

I refuse to believe that Les Miles would go to Kansas -- the graveyard of football coaches. I rather think he would wait for a better job to open up. Isn't LSU still paying him???

Just glad we don't have to worry about a head coach...My bet is CNS stays until he is 75.
