Interesting stat.

I'm not taking anything for granted and won't be making wild pre-game predictions or bragging, etc.

I've learned my lesson.

Really looking forward to the game, needless to say.

Regardless of how you feel about Florida's QB Franks....at least this year he's not our second string at that position!

And we will put one of the most complete/without injury or suspension rosters on the field than we have in many many years.

And finally a coaching staff that is earning their keep!

You never know....;)

Re: WLOCP and the World Cup

Holy spurious correlations, Batman!
Try this one!

Going into the 1971 game the Alabama-Tennessee series was tied 23-23-7. Starting with that 1971 game and counting the original 1993 tie as a forfeit to Tennessee, Alabama has won 32 times to Tennessee's 15.

The score of the 1971 game? 32-15 Bama!

So, what was the score in the 1972 game?

I was at that game. In Knoxville. Everyone thought Coach Bryant was playing for a tie when Bama punted with two minutes left in a 10-10 game. Wrong!. Pat Dye had guaranteed him that the defense would get the ball back. They did! Bama scored in the final seconds to win 17-10. Second of 11 straight!

Re: WLOCP and the World Cup

As an event, yes. As an acronym, no.
That was my point. I figured it would still get more recognition even when people had to figure out the acronym. Most Southern college football fans know about the cocktail party. Most of us don't know much about the world cup. Anyway, it was more of a joke than a reality check.
