This is all about player discipline, look at history of all teams against all others. Even in games we are killing teams and no penalty would hurt or help us, Bama is more disciplined than most. Nick rants on all penalties, hence our guys are more careful not to get chewed out. Many coaches never even react to a penalty unless it is at a crucial time. Bad habits are bad habits. If you do not say anything to most penalties your guys make cause they are not a big deal it sets in bad habits.Many many teams have a history of penalties, it is about attention to details by coaches. The great coaches have fewer penalties, just look at the stats not one or two games at crucial times but an over all pattern. Some teams just get a lot of them as they are allowed to slide to many times by coaches,bad habits are hard to break. Ask any parent with kids, you must be consistent in punishment for bad behavior ALL the time or they become a habit.
