Bizarre!! Texas QB was running for a 1st and Goal and appeared to make it. However..he lost his helmet prior to crossing the chain. It was 4th down. Result was 1st down...West Va. Never seen anything like that.
Well, it worked, so hard to argue with the call at this point. So, West Virginia just scored a TD with 16 seconds to go in the game to come within one point, at 41-40 and, apparently, are going to try for the win with a two-point conversion rather than kick the PAT and go to overtime.
You're playing for a chance to win your conference with an outside shot at the CFP? Why take that kind of risk???
Disagree. Stupid calls that work are still stupid calls.Well, it worked, so hard to argue with the call at this point.
What if it works twice?Disagree. Stupid calls that work are still stupid calls.
If a guy decides to test a used, bullet-proof vest he bought off of eBay by putting it on his 11-year-old daughter and shooting her point-blank with a .45, does the fact that she doesn't die make it a good idea? What if it works twice?
You are judging this based on SEC standards. The Big 12 doesn't play defense. If a guy decides to test a used, bullet-proof vest he bought off of eBay by putting it on his 11-year-old daughter and shooting her point-blank with a .45, does the fact that she doesn't die make it a good idea?
If he shoots her twice and she still doesn't die, does that change it from a stupid idea to anything else?
Exactly. West Virginia's coach probably did not think his defense could stop texas from scoring in OT. Frankly neither did I.You are judging this based on SEC standards. The Big 12 doesn't play defense.
Well, those are my standards! :biggrin2:You are judging this based on SEC standards. The Big 12 doesn't play defense.
