I presume you're referencing Jeudy. They show him having 298 yards after the catch, which would be 38%. Thus, he's not on the list. It makes sense when you consider he's the main deep threat target. Link

I think Jeudy is the most dangerous with the ball in his hands but I guess he doesn't catch a lot of short passes. If you can, why not run past them and catch it 40 yards down the field.

I mean, he is, but he's also taken quite a few slants to the house. And even being a "deep threat" he still runs an additional 30 or so yards untouched.

I am referencing Jeudy -- which is why I typed "jeudy" in the post (lol) -- ;)

This stat just means that the receivers at the top are catching the ball at or near the LOS. You don't want wide receivers having a 50% stat line here. That is fine for RBs, slot receivers and TEs, but not for WRs. When the number is higher than 50% for a WR, it means that his offense does a poor job getting him the ball down the field.

The one thing that makes Jeudy so dangerous is the guy doesn't slow down when he's about to make the catch or when in the act of making the catch. He literally rarely slows down or "breaks stride". Then add to that his sick ability to stop on a dime, change directions and get back to full speed?! He carved up LSU with 8 catches and 103 yards, 12.9 average. He basically made a first down on every reception.

When you catch a bullet that just traveled 60 yards, there is usually not much field left in front of you.

Here's how our guys rank period:

Jerry Jeudy 880 Yards (#2 SEC) 10 TD's (#1 SEC) 22.6 YPC (#3 SEC)

Jaylen Waddle 501 Yards (#11 SEC) 3TD's (#21 SEC) 20.0 YPC (#5 SEC)

Henry Ruggs III 499 Yards (#12 SEC) 8 TD's (#2 SEC) 17.8 YPC (#7 SEC)

Irv Smith Jr. 448 Yards (#15 SEC) 6TD's (#3 SEC) 17.2 YPC (#9 SEC)

DeVonta Smith 409 Yards (#20 SEC) 3 TD's (#21 SEC) 19.5 YPC (#6 SEC)

All Five Guys are in the Top 20 in Yards and the Top 10 in YPC!!!

Jeudy, Ruggs III, and IRV are #1-3 in TD's!!!!

That's some FILTHY stats as a WR/TE Unit.....

No question they are the best in the SEC and arguably the Entire Country as well.

I'd say they are the most 'Dangerous' group no matter when/where the hell they catch it!!!

It's funny. When the trio was signed, there was some talk that the coaching staff likes to have one first round caliber WR on the roster but they felt all three had the ability.

Think we're seeing it now along with Waddle and Irv Smith (who is moving up draft boards, too).

It's one of the great receiving corps in college football history in terms of both stats and performance. Though there are no physical freaks in terms of size, in fact they are all thin but wiry, they are fearless and tough as nails and have great hands. It's a remarkable group.

Bama has not recruited or used many big WRs but mostly avg size with speed and quickness. This makes sense with the current rules. Bama's focus has been on who can get open by speed/quickness/route-running, plus who can take it to the house.

Irv has caught me the most off-guard out of the group. He has become an absolute weapon at TE!!!

All 5 guys are going to start on Sunday's.... no question about it!!

Hard to get a lot of yards after catch when you are the DEEP ball guy. He gets so many yards on the catch, usually not a lot of yards left to the endzone LOL

I wouldn't say Irv Smith caught me off guard because I saw flashes last year of what he could do. But I am surprised at just how much of a weapon he has become. He is an absolute match-up nightmare for linebackers and most safeties. He's going to be a rich man soon enough.

It is great to see him used. remember the NC when we used the TE and beat Clemson. We have had some great TE's and just never fully used them. Good to see the big guys getting in on the plays.
