If Michigan loses to Ohio State again this season, that will make Jim Harbaugh 0-4 against the Buckeyes. This season Michigan looks really good too, and that would drop them out of the CFP picture. There was a lot of excitement around Harbaugh when he was hired, but would Michigan fans continue to put up with loses to their archrival?

With the season they are having they would give him a free pass if the OSU is their only other loss. 2019 would be the win or gone season IMO.

OSU wouldn't be their only loss since they lost to Notre Dame in the first game of this season, but I see what you mean. They would probably still finish 10-2 since I don't see them losing to Indiana.

I personally think Harbaugh is about to end the drought, and it's significant because, IMO, Meyer is the 2nd best coach in the game today. If he doesn't beat OSU, it's no reflection on Harbaugh, but rather a testament to how good at the game that Meyer is.

Change my mind :D

I'll say no since they beat Michigan State, their other rival. Had they lost that game AND Ohio State then I think he would be gone. I think the bigger question is Urban Meyer fired if he loses to Michigan?

Given the way both teams are playing right now, Michigan would really have to lay an egg and OSU really turn it around. Obviously it can happen as we've too often seen in rivalry games, but right now I'd think Michigan would win by 14-20 points.

Harbaugh has fielded a really good team this year that has gotten better as the year has progressed. To me this is the best indicator of how good a job a coach is doing.

With all all the turmoil and less than stellar effort from tOSU recently, I’m going to be surprised if Michigan doesn’t win the game.

Michigan is a different place than Alabama. They will tolerate a coach losing one or two games a year even if one of those is to Ohio State. Ohio State is similar. Look how long John Cooper stayed there and he struggled immensely to beat Michigan and also to win bowl games. Of course, a lot has changed with the Rose Bowl. It used to be that as long as they won the Big Ten and played in the Rose Bowl, they were happy. Well that's kind of gone now. And if they lose to Ohio State, they may or may not still go to the Rose Bowl. I guess it depends if Ohio State goes on to win the Big Ten and get in the playoffs. That would likely send Michigan to the Rose Bowl.

Ultimately no, Harbaugh is not getting fired this year. I think they'd stay with him for a long time if he could churn out 10-2 seasons every year with a win against OSU sprinkled in there every now and then. Eventually, he will have to beat them, but for this year he is safe.

I just happen to be in Ann Arbor at present. I’ll do a “Man on the Street” style interview with some of the locals and “check the pulse” of the fans here. 😉😉

I’ll get back to you shortly.....

Since B1G is at the epicenter of the Buckeye Nation I am sure he knows the inter workings better than any of us, but it seems there is a growing undercurrent in Columbus regarding the Meyer-Smith-now Herman accusations that is foul smelling. It just seems that the team is suffering from what has happened since this summer. Anything new, B1G?

Alumni want this mess done, but the fans remain hopeful of a B1G championship and CFP berth. When that doesn't materialize, the fans will become a problem. Also, we are bleeding recruits, which places even more pressure on Meyer.

Essentially, it is ugly and getting uglier.

This is what will happen if Michigan loses to Ohio State. Sunday Hairbawl will announce that Michigan will Spring Train in Monte Carlo. French and Italian starlets will escort players to meals in various casinos. Recruiting commitments will shoot Michigan up to #1 the next day.

Who's the "favorite" if Meyer is done?
