The Soviets liked erecting these schlocky bas relief war memorials all over the former Soviet Empire. Since the end of the Cold War, young Bulgarians have taken to painting these.
I personally liked Santa Claus holding his PPSh submachine gun, apparently looking for who has been naughty.
