Russian Military Youth Camps in the U.S.

Why does Kremlin need militarized troops in the U.S.?

This is weird. "Cossacks" holding camps in California and Oregon with American kids of Russian descent, learning how to shoot, forced march, land navigate, throw knives (?), and learn about Russian military history.

This article is from 2017, but I wonder how much of this is still going on. It certainly is still going on in Europe.

Russian oligarchs are having “anchor” babies in the US (women staying at Trump’s hotel in Florida).
It’s not weird - Putin is many things, but I don’t think weird is one of them.
His life mission is the destruction of the US. So the only thing I find surprising is no outcry from the “hawks” in Washington.

That's a fair point.
These families are the descendants of White Russians who emigrated during the Russian Civil War when the Whites lost in the 1920s. Since Putin now sees himself as a White Russian (a proto-fascist ideology advanced by Ivan Ilyin, whom Putin now favors), I guess this makes sense.
Putin's foreign policy goals are two:
1. Keep Putin in power and Putin's friends happy.
2. Restore Russia to "great power" status. Russia is economically already on nearly a war footing and he cannot increase Russia's military and political power. Putin believes international politics is a "zero-sum" game, so the next best thing is to reduce the political and military power of the US, EU, and NATO by sowing discord and confusion among them.

Russia has sponsored civil organizations all over eastern Europe with a view toward possibly creating a fifth column in the event of war: Afgantsy (veterans of the Afghan-Soviet War), motorcycle gangs, paintball and airsoft clubs. All legal, and all potentially dangerous should relations take a turn for the worse.

38% of the voting populace is totally incapable of understanding the dangers of cozying up to Russia as Trump wants to do. I don't think there are any "hawks" left. They've all morphed into "Trumpites." I don't think this country has seen this kind of danger since WWII...

Re: Russian Military Youth Camps in the U.S.

Trump had “business” relationships with Putin’s cronies (remember, no one who lives in Russia is rich and not in jail unless they are Putin’s friend) long before 2016.
This should have scared the crap out of anyone even thinking of voting for him, but it didn’t. That is an indictment of his supporters that they cannot avoid or deny, unless they choose to use the “I didn’t know” defense which in many cases is probably appropriate, but not a viable excuse.

38%? I'd venture to say that every leftist would vote for Putin if Pelosi or Obama told them he would restore socialism to the US and everyone would have a living wage. The sheep are ready to be sheared no matter what political affiliation they claim.
