This...I was so depressed after this game...was it after this that we went to the wishbone or the next year? The years run together...In my lifetime, the 1971 Nebraska Cornhuskers. They beat us every way you can be beaten.

Some of us are old enough to have watched the game live...How could you tell how good football teams were back in 1971? The video footage from those games is so bad that the games look like the techmo bowl. :biggrin2:
Only half kidding. I am in my 50s, so I remember when horrible TV images used to seem amazing clear. When I see video of those games today I wonder how I ever watched TV back then. Some of us are old enough to have watched the game live...
Did you ever have to put aluminum foil on the rabbit ears to improve the reception? At one early, rural pastorate I would go outside and turn the antenna pole while my wife gave me feedback!!Only half kidding. We ran the wishbone against them. Unfortunately, compared to the Oklahoma team of that year, we ran it in slow motion.This...I was so depressed after this game...was it after this that we went to the wishbone or the next year? The years run together...
That was the team I was thinking about. Didn't they win the title that year? I think they thumped us like 23-0 or something like that.1986 Penn State beat us pretty soundly. And in BDS.
LOL - I remember those days all too well. I remember having my little brother stand and hold one "ear" of the antenna for two hours because we figured out that it helped reception.Did you ever have to put aluminum foil on the rabbit ears to improve the reception? Yeah, they beat Miami in the Fiesta Bowl. They beat us 23-3. We were 7-0 going into the game and we simply couldn't do anything. That was the team [1986 Penn State] I was thinking about. Didn't they win the title that year? I think they thumped us like 23-0 or something like that.

It is very hard not to pick that 71 Nebraska team.
