Understood. I do remember watching them as a kid. Several players in the NFL were from those teams. The game and more importantly recruiting has changed and they haven’t. Resting on their laurels and name recognition while newer brands are beating them. My point, I suppose, is they assume a position that is no longer theirs in modern CFB. If another independent, say BYU, had a similar resume they wouldn’t have been anywhere close to the top 4.
